Aegean Race

After the stunning success of the first Aegean Paddler Race in 2012, our club presents to you the second Race which will be held on the 12th-13th of October 2013 and will be part of a European Paddler Series. Our race has been established as and annual International Race of Top Level, our main asset apart from our great weather and downwind runs, is that we are a day's drive away from Central Europe.

Dear Paddlers and Friends,

AEGEAN RACE PRIZE MONEY

2000 1st Male SurfSki Paddler across the line
1500 2nd
1000 3rd
500 4th
250 5th

500for first female SurfSki Paddler across the line
300 2nd
200 3rd

1000 for 1st Veteran SurfSki Paddler across the line
500 2nd
250 3rd

We would like to clarify that by veteran we mean any paddler who at the date of the race has completed 40 years of age.

The cash prizes will be awarded at the closing ceremony after the ratification of the results by the race comittee

The following categories of paddlecraft will compete in the race :
1) Men's Single Surfskis
2) Men's Double Surfskis
3) Women' Single Surfskis
4) Women's Double Surfskis

(where by surfski we mean any sit-on-top canoe, with pedal steering and enough boyancy to overcome its weight and that of the paddler)

If there are 3 or more entries in the men's or women's double categories, we may offer additional prize money for these categories.

Categories 5 to 9 do not have any cash prizes, but we will endeavour to seek sponsors for gifts and possible cash prizes depending both on enrollment and sponsor availability.

5) Open Paddlers Men's single
6) Open Paddlers Women's single
7) Open Paddlers Mens, Mixed or Women doubles
(any sea kayak, canoe with or without outrigger, any paddle craft without fixed oar joints

8) SUP Men's
9) SUP Women's

(SUP's will be competing on different courses (shorter) and possibly different hours than the other categories
